Frequently Asked Questions.
Where do I start?
It is important to find a counsellor you feel comfortable with as commitment and regular attendance are important for therapy to be effective. I encourage prospective clients to speak with a few counsellors to see who they feel comfortable with. I offer a free 10-minute introductory call for you to ask any questions and to discuss what you would like from therapy. If you prefer, you can also book a first session to see if we might be a good fit and to experience how we might work together.
In person or online?
In-person sessions are offered at two London locations. I am experienced at working online so if you live outside of London, or find the locations otherwise inaccessible, we can discuss working together remotely. A blend of both online and in-person sessions is also possible.
How often should I have therapy?
If you decide you would like to work together, we would agree open-ended weekly sessions which would allow us to work at a deeper level, or a limited number of weekly sessions (usually 12-20) if you have a specific issue you would like to work on. Sessions are 50-minutes long and are held at the same time and on the same day each week. Occasional rescheduling within the same week is possible where necessary. Please note that I do not offer fortnightly, monthly or single session therapy.
What happens in the sessions?
Together, we will work towards exploring how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are intertwined with your core beliefs and past experiences. My role is to support you in identifying meaningful shifts in your thinking and behaviour, helping you through the process of embracing these changes. Additionally, we may establish manageable, practical goals for you to pursue between sessions, facilitating your personal growth and enhancing your sense of empowerment.
